Sometimes, it’s hard to get people to listen, let alone get kids to learn. Teachers across the nation get some amazing training and then enter the world of work. Schools, classes and pupils are all unique and everyone learns in different ways. One of the best ways to get kids to learn is to capture their attention. Using ways of teaching them that are relevant, that they engage and interact with, that they enjoy! One of these ways is through creativity and you’ll be glad that there are some amazing resources online that you can utilise in your education.
In The Classroom
Any teacher will tel you that they enjoy having their classroom organised how they want it to be. Especially in primary schools where they tend to have lots of work and teaching resources and imagery on the walls. Teachers often spend a couple of days at the end of the school year, or go in ahead of the start of the next year, to organise their classroom. Finding amazing online resources can help with that. You can sign up to places like Design Bundles where you can get hold of photos, illustrations, printables, craft ideas and even background patterns to make everything that little bit more interesting and inviting.
The creativity doesn’t stop with what’s on the walls though. You can utilise these amazing resources during class time as well. As mentioned, one of the best ways to teach is to properly connect. Bright colours, unique fonts and interesting ways of sharing wisdom is wonderful. Check out the affordable bundles which can help take some of the hassle out of teaching. Not only will they give you a little bit more time, they’ll be incredible for the kids, which is why teachers do what they do! Turn boring worksheets into super intriguing papers. Creative striking and noticeable work on the walls. You’ll find everything you need online, just search for it and transform your classroom.

Home Education
Maybe you’ve considered home education in the past? I know we have. But we decided to send the kids to school. Little did we know that within a few years we’d be trying to figure out some sort of school and homeschool combination during a pandemic. It’s not quite homeschooling because if we were doing that we’d be following the children’s lead, what interests them and probably visiting lots of museums and places of interest. Instead, we’re half working through the school sheets sent home and trying to juggle that with Zoom calls to teachers and the like.
Great online resources available to get keep this work interesting include photographs to add into projects, and mock ups for turning drawings into t-shirts and other products. Being able to take the worksheet sent home and expand on it in a way that interests the kids is important. It’s a bit of a nightmare juggling everything at home, especially when we’re working form home too. So adding the use of some resources to inject some fun into the learning, is a great idea.
In Other Areas Of Life
One of the hobbies that our kids enjoy is Scouts. They love going along to the meetings, trying new things, learning skills and at the moment, connecting online too. We’ve been able to utilise online resources to help our kids earn their badges. One of the most recent badges they did was a photography badge. They had to take 10 or more photographs, talk to us as parents about why they took them, what they like about them and such, and then use them in a product. Such as a calendar or a greetings card. So our eldest went into the garden one morning, snapped some photos and we turned these into birthday cards. He learned some great skills and was proud of being able to use mock ups of greetings cards to send into his leaders to earn his badge. Brilliant!
Other walks of life you can use creative online resources in include other teaching jobs. If you run a tuition business, you need a logo which is going to grab attention. Not only the logo, but business stationery and the branded work too. Creating something professional and attractive with downloadable fonts and graphics is easy. Another one of our kids has been going to a cricket class. Creating bright and bold certificates is a great way to help teach the children and give them goals to aim for. There are awesome online resources which can allow you to easily create something superb, so you can get on with what you need to. This could work with a swimming teacher, football coach or even a maths tutor.

Learning In Everyday Life
Not all learning is done in the classroom or via sitting down with a book either. We learn so much by doing. Baking a cake, wiring a light bulb, changing the oil on a car. Using the washing machine, garden maintenance, using the vacuum cleaner. It might sound like house work but it’s more than that. These are life skills. Make some quirky certificates or a reward chart for their chores. Help them achieve things and celebrate those accomplishments. They’ll be thrilled that they’ve baked some bread or have helped you wash the car. You’ll be safe in the knowledge as a parent that they will have some skills when they gain independence. They’ll know how to boil an egg and more when they go to university!
Creativity Is Key
We all learn in different ways. However, if we’re not interested and intrigued in what we need to know, we’re less likely to be bothered. Whether you’re teaching a group of kids in the classroom, using the internet to teach a Pilates class or are actually teaching something creative like art and design, you can take your creativity to the next level with awesome online resources. With just a few clicks, you can turn your boring and dull design into something fun, attractive and beautiful.
